The Let Them Theory
The Let Them Theory is a grounded, liberating guide to releasing control and choosing peace. Mel Robbins invites readers to stop over-explaining, stop chasing people, and stop carrying what isn’t theirs. Through stories, practical tools, and real-life moments, she shows how letting people be who they are creates more space for clarity, self-respect, and emotional freedom.
Why I Chose This Book
I chose The Let Them Theory because it speaks directly to the season I’m in — a season of protecting my peace, honoring my boundaries, and letting life unfold without forcing anything. This book aligns with the heart of Soulful Journey Through Pages: choosing yourself gently, releasing what drains you, and allowing room for what’s meant to stay.
And even though this isn’t a Black author, the book kept showing up in my world. It popped up on my feed again and again. My wife was reading it and sharing how much it shifted her perspective. Then Pastor Mike preached two sermons inspired by it. At that point, it felt less like coincidence and more like a nudge. I was intrigued — almost called into it — and I knew I had to read it for myself.
It’s a reminder that peace isn’t passive — it’s a practice. And this book felt like the right companion for that practice.
